Softens thick, extra dry hair with an ultra rich blend of Pure Olive Oil, Mango Butter and Rice Bran Oil! A touch of plant wax helps reduce frizz and smooths edges and soy extract adds humectancy. Use sparingly. A little goes a long way.

What I Say:
This butter is amazing and smells really good.  I've used this product on and off since last July.  Its no surprise that I really enjoy QB products and this is NO exception!  This butter is very soft despite the initial appearance and it spreads very well in the hair.  It adds shine and moisture.  I get great results using this butter on damp and  dry hair (The Beginning of BG "S" Loc Journey).  This product is great for twists and gives excellent definition for twist outs.  It leaves the hair super soft and bouncy.  Although its only 5 oz., a little really does go along way, I still have my container from last year.  *Bonus: It doubles as a body butter!

BG "M" Box Braids with a Curl

Today was picture day at BG "M"s school today...good old Cap & Gown pictures!  Well, after a fun-filled weekend of water play for her 6th Birthday at Great Wolf Lodge, we successfully managed to keep her hair dry with a Speedo Critter Creeps Swim Cap (Combo Pack)...that is of course until we got home and my husband decided to let them play with the water hose! So the first thing that pops in my head is, what am I going to do with her hair?!  Taking the box braids out was not an option as I was completely exhausted from the weekend!  So I thought why not curl them...which is what I did.  I used my perm rods that I use to get my locs curled.  I first sprayed her hair with Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-In Conditioner (w/ added Sweet Almond Oil) and then began to roll each braid.  I kept them in overnight, took them out this morning, applied Carol's Daughter Hair Balm and pinned some braids to the side and this is what I got! :-D

Twist Out Day

After wearing their hair in two-strand twists for the week, I decided to give both girls a twist-out.  Baby Girl M loves wearing her hair free and curly and I usually put Baby Girl S twist-out in ponytails.  To keep down on frizzies, I typically don't pull the hair apart after untwisting, I let the hair do its own thing, lol.  Here are the results:

 I used SM Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Style Milk to twists and applied Beautiful Textures Moisture Butter right before untwisting.

I used Darcy's Botanicals Madagascar Vanilla Styling Creme to twists,  applied Coconut Oil to untwists and misted with Cara B Moisturizing Hair Mist while adding a little more coconut oil to style.

Project Improvement Cornrow

After a 1 year hiatus on cornrowing, I finally gathered the energy to try again...and I am quite pleased!  Although there is always room for improvement. Here is Baby Girl S at 17 months, I last cornrowed her hair at 7 months. (Check Post Titled: Baby Girl S First Cornrows)
